UNIT OF CD-ROM

Unit of CD-ROM: This unit is good to read the compact disks (CD-ROM) in those that almost come all the programs and to listen to music CD in the PC. The speed of an unit of CD ROM depends two factors: the rate of transfer of data (the most important thing and the only fact that you/they will mention him) and the time of access.  

  
The rate of transfer of data refers to the quantity of data that the unit of CD ROM can send to the PC, in one second. That rate is measured in kilobytes per second (kbps) and it is indicated with a number beside a X, for example: 16X, 24X, 48X.. (to more X, bigger speed). therefore an unit of 24X can send to the computer 3.6000 kb of data in one second and an unit of 48X, can transfer 7.200 kbps, double a 24X.
